The Elders here at FBC Medford have decided to write a proposal to apply for the Lilly Endowment Clergy Renewal Grant. The Clergy Renewal Program provides funds to underwrite expenses incurred by the pastor and the church related to an extended time away from day-to-day pastoral duties. The program offers up to $60,000 to cover the costs of the renewal activities. Up to $15,000 can be used by the church to cover expenses when the pastor is on leave.
If FBC is successfully awarded grant funds, Pastor Greg’s time away for renewal would be in summer of 2024. Pastor Greg would be away from FBC for a period of three months.
A time of renewal can be beneficial for a pastor. However, it is just as crucial for this time to provide renewal for the congregation at FBC effectively. So, we want to hear from you!
Here are ways to provide feedback on how we should approach Pastor Greg’s renewal leave so that the congregation also experiences renewal.
