ENCOUNTER WEEKEND 2023
What is Encounter Weekend?
Encounter Weekend is a weekend for students grades 6-12 to get away from the distractions of their daily life, come together and worship Christ for an entire weekend.
What is Encounter the Nameless?
This is our theme for this year. Throughout the Bible there are stories of people who encounter Christ and do not have a name. Yet God uses them in amazing ways and yet no one knows their name. God can and does use everyone for His purpose, this weekend we will explore what God can do through you.
Who can come?
Students in grades 6-12 are all welcome and encouraged to attend.
Why should I and my friends come?
Whether you are already a follower of Christ, or if you are still searching for truth, this weekend is designed to be a fun, engaging, and distraction-free time where you can grow deeper in your relationship with Christ, or explore what it means to follow Christ. We will have awesome worship, great fellowship and games, and even have a chance to serve others during this weekend.
When is it?
March 17-19,2023.
How much is it?
$45 - This includes all Saturday meals and Sunday morning breakfast, a t-shirt, and paintball on Saturday.
We never want a student to miss out on this event because of the price, please contact Pastor Todd to see if there is a scholarship available for you (all scholarships are first come first serve and need based).
Who is speaking?
Spencer Thorpe is an elder at Community Bible Church in Central Point and has served as a Youth Pastor for 11 years. Spencer is married to his wife Meckenzie and they have two children together. In his free time he enjoys traveling with his family using only travel points, and someday wishes he can become a real foodie.
Who is leading worship?
This year we are having one of our own former students come back to lead us in worship! Blake Breitler will be leading us in worship for the entire weekend.
How do I register and make sure I can come to this event?
Click on the "Register For Encounter Weekend" button below, and fill out the registration form. Also, if you have not filled out an FBC Student Release Form in the past calendar year, then you can download it here, fill it out, and make sure to bring it with you to Registration or give it to Pastor Todd before the event.
I am not a part of FBC Medford's Student Ministry, can I still attend?
ABSOLUTELY! This is open to all students regardless of where you attend church. If you or your group wants to attend, we would love to have you and your leaders have an awesome weekend with us. You can register below.
I am a Youth/Student Pastor or a Youth/Student Leader, can I bring my group?
YES! We want Encounter Weekend to be an open event where you can bring your group and not worry about the programming so that you have time to build relationships and disciple your group. We want to work with you for whatever is best for your group, so of course you can come, register below, but please contact Todd Killmeyer directly to work out the details. tkillmeyer@fbcmedford.org Phone 541.690.0510
